Party Time
I planned every detail of my 300-guest wedding eight years ago. Though stressful at times, I found the process a lot of fun and quite entertaining. So why is it that every year around my children's birthdays, I want to crawl up in the corner of the room and cry? I hate thinking about themes, food, invitations and whom to invite. I guess there is more pressure, because for that one day, you really want your child to have the time of his or her life. You want him to gush over the Batman plates, think that the cupcakes are the best ever and have a great time with his friends. Magicians are called, face painters are summoned, party locations are inspected and, every year, without fail, one of my children always asks, "It was great, Mom, but next year could we…?" And so the whirlwind begins again.
