Parents
This month I came to realize my role as a caregiver has now expanded. In addition to taking care of my two children, I have begun to take care of my aging parents. Despite the fact that I don't mind doing it and I love them both deeply, the idea has me feeling a bit sad. I have always viewed my parents as the ones in control. They have always been whom I turn to for answers ranging from home repair to where to buy something. However, I now find myself flagged with questions from them. I now understand that this is the way life usually goes: After parents take care of their children, it becomes time to repay the favor. I can only hope that I do as good a job as they did and demonstrate the same patience and caring. I also hope I will be taking care of them for a very long time!
