Happy Holidays
This holiday season, it seems like my children's wish list is growing longer by the day. My son is now age 4. In years past, I have always picked out his gifts. Not so this year. Each and every day, my son sees something new that he needs to tell Santa about… “PRONTO, before he leaves the North Pole.” I am trying to explain to my dear son that Santa cannot fit all of those gifts in his sleigh— that that we provide him with a list just as a guideline that Santa will then pick from. I'm hoping that my son doesn't throw a fit Christmas morning when he realizes the dragon castle and Batman's bat cave didn't quite make the long trip over. My 2-year-old daughter is picking up on the hoopla and making her own special requests. She can't go ten minutes without saying “I want dat, Mom. Santa bring me dat, OK?” And it doesn't matter if my daughter is watching a Home Depot commercial; she merely thinks asking for everything is the whole idea of Christmas. And isn't that what being a kid at Christmas is all about?
Hope the holidays bring you everything you wish for…or at least a majority!

I know what you mean girl. At 4, they actually ask for specific things. It's such a new experience. Mine even had his teachers help him write a letter to Santa asking for trains, and had them give it to me. And everyday, it's a new Thomas and Friends character that he asks for. I have one more year of little brother not really caring at least. Next year, probably not so.
