Happily Ever After
Once upon a time there was a gal with a perfect life. She enjoyed a fantastic job as an editor of a wonderful and insightful magazine, a best friend as a husband and the love and support of family and friends.
But something was missing… That something came in the form of a 7 pound, 12 ounce bundle. After giving birth to her son, the 30-something-woman couldn't stop smiling (and yawning) as she would make her way from her Park Avenue office in Manhattan back home to Brooklyn to see her two Prince Charmings.
Before she knew it, the happy editor and mom felt that if only she had a little companion for her baby boy, life would be complete. She wished and she prayed, and soon another bundle arrived: a 7 pound, 13 ounce princess. Just perfect. Only, the editor-mom was overwhelmed balancing a career and young children.
Hence, the beloved editor (she did work in the same office for more than a decade) decided to give up her perfect job to care for her angelic children. Sound like a fairy tale? This version is. However, as a see-the-glass-half–full kind of gal, this is the version I like to tell. The truth is, I went from meetings to Mommy and Mes, proofreading to pacifiers and stilettos to sneakers. So my life isn't glamorous or picture perfect. In fact, it is often messy and disorganized— not your typical fairy tale, but a fairy tale nonetheless.

Dear AnneMarie:
This is amazing. Yesterday I was on parentguidenews.com looking for a birthday place for my son and I didn't notice your blog.
I just went on again and there you are, as big as life.
Your blog is a great addition to parentguidenews.com. It was so much fun reading you when you were at parentguide -- now we all get to read you every week. Welcome back.
A BIG FAN!!!
