The End of the Week

Sun Jul 10 2011

Two days in a row, two runs in a row. Definitely feels good to be able to say that again. Jogging is one of the exercises that I like to do the least. But it is probably the one that benefits me the most. Isn't it funny how most things in life seem to work out that way. I have been keeping my workouts consistent for the past few weeks now, but getting in my runs is the one thing that has been escaping me. With the Warrior Dash and the Yankee Stadium 5K's right around the corner in August…not to mention the fact that it is a great all-around exercise in general…I am making a point to get my feet moving again. My house sits on the end of our block…right on the edge of an avenue that stretches out for a little more that half a mile…all the way to a dead end that lands you smack dab into the back of my daughter's school. So I will start there.

According to the beloved Endomondo app on my cell phone, the whole trip there and back is just about a mile-and-a-quarter and burns off 240 calories. Every little bit helps. And speaking of every little bit helping, I made sure to be careful when it came to food choices today too. Sundays I like to be a little extra careful since i know the scale will be waiting for me first thing on Monday morning. Kept it nice and simple today. Cereal with banana and a yogurt for breakfast, tuna on whole wheat (lite mayo of course) with some fruit and another yogurt for lunch and an egg white omlette with mixed veggies for dinner. From here I will be creeping down to my man cave for a quick ab-workout with my cards and then it is off to bed. This is the first Sunday in a few weeks that I can ACTUALLY sleep and I would like to take advantage of that…if possible.

So have a good night folks. I had a really good weekend. Hope you did too.

Let's see if my hard work this week shows up on the scale tomorrow morning. Wish me luck!
