New Year, Fresh Start

Wed May 17 4000

I am a big Tommy Lee Jones fan. Just thought you might like to know that. Lol. In the movie Cobb, TLJ plays legendary baseball player Ty Cobb. It is a good movie. Not great, but good. However it does have a line in it that I have always liked. At a reunion of his old baseball teammates, a now old Ty Cobb, much closer to the end of his life than the beginning, tells a down-on-his- luck friend, "Mickey, you have got to put forth a better effort." SImple and to the point. And that, my friends, is my New Year's resolution. I am going to put forth a better effort. This year I am going to be in better health and in better shape. I am going to be a better person, a better friend, a better worker. I will be a better brother, a better son...a better FATHER. I am going to have a better outlook and be more positive. I will finally become the writer that I always believed I could be. The past year wasn't a great one for me personally or professionally on a lot of levels. So we're not going to even dwell on it. We're going to move on. With a new year brings a fresh start. As 2011 came to and end and 2012 began I did manage to find a few things in my life that made me truly happy. I plan to grab onto those things with both hands and never let go. Seems like as good a place to start as any. Looking forward to the 12 months ahead. The possibilities are endless. I will be updating me status here once a week from now on...every Monday to be exact. I have a few ideas that I am genuinely excited about. I hope you will stop in from time to time to see how I am doing.

Happy New Year.....let the games begin!
