Not sure how this little story is going to translate in a blog post. It's more of a visual thing, really. I am going to try and `splain it to you anyway please bear with me. In the movie "Liar Liar" Jim Carey plays a shady lawyer who suddenly discovers that he can't tell a lie for 24 hours. He has a career "make or break" trial during that time...and needing to lie to win...he looks for a way to get the trial postponed until the 24 hours is up. With me so far? Cool...moving on then. While in the men's room he comes up with the idea to make it look like he has been beaten and mugged, so that the judge has no choice but to reschedule. If you've never seen the movie, it's pretty funny. If you've never seen this particular scene, it's Jim Carey at his best. So in the middle of throwing himself into walls, rubbing soap into his own eyes, slamming toilet seats on his head and beating himself senseless with a trash can, a stranger walks in. He stares at Carey for a minute with his mouth hanging open and finally asks "what are you DOING?" And Jim Carey stops, looks at the guy and in all seriousness replies, "I'm kickin MY ya MIND!?!" Ha ha ha. Now the reason I decided to share that little anecdote with you is because right now...Jim Carey in that me.

Maybe not the exact beat-down. But let me tell you...ladies and gentlemen...I am KICKIN' MY ASS! Lately I have tried to amp up my workouts to another level by increasing my runs, pushing myself to work out in the morning AND at night, getting up at the crack of dawn to walk to the train station, even braving 100-plus-degree weather. It has all become part of my own routine. Yet this morning I got up and hopped on the scale like I do every morning, to find out I lost exactly, NOTHING. Okay, not 100% true. Lost a few tenths of a pound. But since it was less than half officially...we don't count it...UGH. That keeps me at 5 pounds in 5 weeks. Guys, this is getting RIDICULOUS! I am not going to let myself get discouraged though...not much Pissed off as I was, I stuck with the program today. No easy task when you are an emotional me. Still managed to have my protein and my salads today. Also managed to get my walk in this morning and my workout in tonight. What else can we do besides keep on fighting and hope for a better result next week. I am still waiting for things to click into place for me. That one week where there is a big drop. If you're not moving forward you are going backwards someone once told me...and slow or not at least I know that I am going in the right direction. Hope everyone had a good weekend. Mondays can be rough...hopefully the week ahead will be a good one for all of us.
