Tonight I decided to end my day the same way that I started it. With a two mile walk from the LIRR train station. Just got in after watching the Yankees beat up on the Angels at the stadium. Got off the train and could have...probably SHOULD have...taken a cab. But money is tight and I hadn't really had a chance to do much tonight exercise walking it seemed like the logical thing to do. I will say this. Doing that particular walk first thing in the morning with the sun up and doing it in the wee hours of the night when most blocks are pitch black are two entirely different experiences. It's over and done with now...I am home safe and sound...and that is all that matters. I also cranked out a good, hard 4 miles today...which totals out to roughly 600 calories according to (you guessed it) Endomondo. Not the greatest workout day for me, but if it is true that the body only needs 20-30 minutes of cardio a day to stay fit, then I definitely filled my quota and then some. Also made sure to be good with my meals today I always do. Started the morning out with an egg white wrap with spinach. I know it might not sound great...but YUM! Had a caesar salad with grilled chicken for lunch (COSI's on Park Ave South - best caesar dressing around...FYI). Then for dinner I faced a bit of a challenge. I was at Yankee Stadium, where hot dogs, cheese fries, pretzels and beer flow from every stand like greasy little waterfalls. :)

I did however, find a stand that had a "grilled veggie sandwich" that was listed at only 275 calories. Okay...played it "safe" and went with it...but I have a feeling somebody was a little off in their calculations. Both in the number of calories AND in their idea of what grilled veggies are exactly too. LOL. Anyway, all in all I had a really, really good time...and I was also reminded of one of life's simplest, yet extremely important rules. You know how people talk about "the healing power of laughter" or how they say that "laughter is the best medicine?" Well I am happy to report that I certainly got a clean bill of health in that department tonight. I think we tend to get caught up in the seriousness of our own lives sometimes. Kids, jobs, bills, money, family, responsibilities, etc., etc. It is easy to forget how important the little things taking the time to laugh and enjoy yourself every once in awhile. Well I am glad I got a chance to do both of those things tonight. Not just because the Yankees won Thank you to Miss Keri Lynn Harper, for cracking up alongside me from the first pitch to the much so that we actually lost track of the game there once or twice. I don't think that the people in front of us found us nearly as amusing as we found each other. But clearly that is their problem, not mine. Ha ha ha. I for one, had a much needed good time. And that my friends, is no malarkey (or sassafrass). LOL.

G'nite all....Until tomorrow! (Three Days til the Warrior Dash!!!)
