Ignite your child’s imagination by spending a fall afternoon making and playing with homemade dough.

No-Cook Play Dough Recipe

  • 4 cups plain all-purpose flour
  • 4 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 cup salt
  • 4 tablespoons cream of tartar
  • Up to 3 cups of boiling water (Adding in increments until it feels just right)
  • Food coloring (optional)

Instructions

Mix the flour, salt, cream of tartar, and oil in a large bowl. Add boiling water to the mixture, and stir it continuously until you have a sticky, combined dough. Allow the dough to cool. Take it out of the bowl, and knead it well for a couple of minutes until all of the stickiness has gone. This is very important, so don’t stop until you are happy with the texture. If the dough stays sticky, add a touch more flour until it’s just right. Enjoy!
